This Vintage Turkish wooden Pots was originally used as "butter/ dairy churn". They were typically made from hardwood such as beech or oak and were designed to hold milk or cream while it is churned into butter. it is known that metal rings, as the one on this piece, were commonly used in butter churns during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Prior to this, butter churns were typically made entirely of wood and did not have metal rings as handles.
